
In conjunction with the 15th anniversary celebration of the Mineola Historical Museum, the Time Capsule Cornerstone Rededication will also be celebrated Monday, Sept. 9 at 5 p.m.. The Cornerstone Rededication will begin promptly at 5 p.m. and will be a brief event to recognized the placement of a new time capsule box in the cornerstone of the 1936 former Mineola Post Office. Building. The Rededication is being held by the Landmark Commission. Museum Board members will serve refreshments from 5 to 7 p.m. for the celebration.

Wow! What a time to be in Mineola. Get's your boots on, it's RODEO TIME. the 61st Mineola Fire Department Rodeo is Tonight (7/12) and tomorrow night (7/13) at 8 pm. A tradition lasting 4 generations! The Mineola Farmers Market will have all the homegrown produce, crafts and goods you need from 8 am until 1 pm. It's a MINI TRAIN WEEKEND at Iron Horse Square from 9 am until 1 pm. This week is the "Scavenger Hunt Train." Plenty of activities there. Out at the Mineola Nature Preserve from 10 am until noon there is a Tomato Tasting with the Promise of Peace Gardens. The Historic Select Theater has movies all weekend, and don't forget all your favorite boutiques, sweet shops, restaurants, gift stores and antiques stores. It's a great place to be!








IT'S A MINI TRAIN WEEKEND!!! Free rides with Harry the Mini Train at Iron Horse Square this Saturday, July 13th from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Come join us for what is ALWAYS and amazing time!!!
The activities this week are for the Scavenger Hunt Train and will be hosted by the Mineola Pilot Club from 9-12. So if you like scavenger hunts and winning prizes come on out and test your skills. Note - Some of the hints will be in a yet to be disclosed air conditioned building. (Cool down time).






IT'S RODEO WEEK!!!! The 61st Mineola Fireman's Rodeo will returns on Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th at the Mineola Rodeo Grounds. Generations of boots have shuffled into those stands over the years, and this summer will be no different. A true Mineola tradition and always for a great cause. $10 for adults and $8 for kids under 12. Kids under 5 get in free. Events start at 8 pm each night.






It's almost time for the annual Mineola City Fireworks Display!!!
The display will be at the Mineola Civic Center and THAT'S NOT ALL
Papa T's BBQ, Kona Ice, and ETX Lemonade will be onsite - 4:30 pm
Also, They Got Your Six Foundation will have hot dogs (fordonations) and the Elizabeth Denton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be providing water for visitors.
The always popular Lake Country Symphonic Band will perform! 8 pm
The Splash Pad will be open all day until 8:00 pm. Fireworks at dark. Experience a Mineola Tradition!!!

Harry The Mini Train is ready to roll! We are looking forward to seeing you Sat. June 22 for free rides with Harry!

We will be combining our scheduled Freedom Train with our Share-A-Book Train (the one we missed when Harry was sick). This will make twice as many fun activities for the kids!

City Offices will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 19th) in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. Water bills can be paid online at the website, the Mineola mobile app, or dropped off at the night drop at the drive through.


Iron Horse Square Volunteers, the Landmark Commission and the City of Mineola would like to thank our diesel mechanic “Dr” Greg Wood for getting Harry the Mini Train up and running again!
Dr. Greg spent many hours making sure he had diagnosed Harry’s illness properly.
A quick surgery and Harry is feeling fine. He even begged Dr. Greg’s nurse, Ms Cheryl Wood, to take him for a few laps around the track.
Thanks to the Wood team! Y’all are AWESOME!


On Saturday, June 15, Line Street in Downtown and the surrounding area will be buzzing with music, cars, motorcycles, a cornhole tournament and much more family fun. Mineola's Summer Bash is being organized by The Texan Hall by Jorgies and the the events proceeds benefit the They Got Your 6 foundation in honor of June being PTSD month. Come out at join all the festivities from 10 am until 5 pm and support a great cause!


The City of Mineola is entering its budget preparations for the upcoming fiscal year (2024-2025), and we want to hear from YOU! On June 20th, 5:30 pm, the Mayor, City Council, and staff are holding a meeting at Mineola City Hall to hear from Mineola Citizens on what you would like to see in the coming year. Start by filling out the survey at the Mineola website (link in the comments) and plan to attend if you are able. Your town. Your voice.

The the annual Mineola Independence Day Fireworks Display at the Mineola Civic Center is just around the corner! This amazing tradition is something we all look forward to. The display is funded in part by the city and also with donations from citizens and organizations in our area. We are now accepting those donations at city hall. Amidst the amazing weather on Saturday, Mineola citizens and visitors alike had plenty to savor, experience, cheer for, listen to, and remember as the first weekend in May delivers again. From the Fiesta 5K, 10k, 15K at the Mineola Nature preserve and model train display at the Transportation Plaza, to the opening day of the Farmers Market, Fiesta Mini Train and all of the incredible events, food, shopping, car show and contests at Fiesta de Mayo, there was no shortage of entertainment in Mineola. Every year seems to bring more! Special thanks to all of the organizations and volunteers that made this weekend happen again this year. It truly is a good place to be!

Don't forget opening day of the Mineola Farmers Market from 8:00 until 1:00. Then, downtown from 10:00 until 4:00, its the annual Mineola Chamber of Commerce Fiesta de Mayo. Food, live entertainment, vendors, contests and more! And certainly don't forget about the Mini Train at Iron Horse Square from 11:00 until 3:00. And all of the usual shopping and amazing eateries and sweets. Don't forget to vote at City Hall from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. It's a good place to be!
