Mr. Darrell Martin had the incredible opportunity to enjoy a Falcon Experience, which he won as a result of his donation to the Mineola Nature Preserve. Heath Kinder from Birds of Prey graciously offered this prize to those who contributed during special events at the Preserve and Mr. Martin was the lucky winner of the drawing. What an unforgettable experience this must have been for Mr. Martin! He thoroughly enjoyed the event and expressed his appreciation. The life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated in Mineola on the day he is honored across the nation Monday, Jan. 20.
The Mineola Ministerial Alliance will host a Unity in Our Community service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 304 Stone St.
Cody Mize will be the guest speaker. He serves as superintendent of Mineola schools as well as pastor of Cartwright Baptist Church.
